Unleashing Creativity in the classroom (5-12 years)
Facilitated by Kelvin Sparks
There is widespread agreement in political, business and scientific circles that the problems that face us in an uncertain future will need greater numbers of creative problem solvers, while an increasingly specialised marketplace will need greater numbers of creative entrepreneurs.
Sir Ken Robinson and others have called for schools to take a greater role in developing creativity.
However, there seems to be a lack of consensus on how to promote greater creativity within a school context. In reality, the very systems and routines that are essential to the smooth running of schools can render them immune to creative initiatives and innovation.
Kelvin will focus on:
- Practical strategies and activities for promoting creativity across the curriculum
- Transforming learning tasks to allow for greater creativity
- Creating learning environments to invite and foster creativity
- How creative learning leads to greater student engagement
- Creativity and innovation
Come along to this workshop to explore how to unleash creativity in your classroom and school.
